Scope of Work:
The Fleet Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager and provides fleet management support to RI’s Cox’s Bazar Rohingya Response Program. This position will oversee a pool of project vehicles supporting Cox’s Bazar and field offices ensuring efficient use of resources and coordinating field travel. This position requires flexibility, problem solving, and strong interpersonal skills.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop weekly field travel schedules, coordinating between program staff and drivers to allocate use of vehicles
Ensure vehicle insurances are up-to-date, all required road permits are obtained and drivers maintain valid driving licenses
Monitor maintenance and servicing records for the vehicles as required
Assist in the management and compliance of supplier vehicle contracts as needed
Support field operations staff with monitoring fleet and the coordination of all vehicle movement in line with RI policies and procedures
Monitor vehicle logbooks
Support Operations Manager to ensure that transport services are cost efficient and reliable; ensure the efficient coordination of timely delivery of supplies to projects.
Enhance and monitor systems to effectively plan, coordinate and monitor staff travel by road
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & requirements:
At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
1-3 years work experience in fleet operations, preferably with NGOs
Able to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel and work extensively – sometimes at short notice, in difficult places and under long hours – according to a results-based approach
Able to work independently and within a team.
Diligent in work processes and able to juggle multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google software, particularly Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, MS Word and MS Excel. Adobe suite preferred.
Fluency in English & Bangla.
